I think that a lot of the violence threatened in our modern political system is a symptom of it being otherwise difficult\impossible to get things done otherwise. Our government just fails to fund itself and shuts down routinely. Of course people get mad and want to smash things! It's dumb!

I see the agreement-seeking processes of Agreed Upon Solutions as a way to overcome the need for political violence. If the desire for violence grows for a desire to get things done, then voting on what needs to be done is all that needs to happen. Revolution ends in a vote.
