This is particularly a problem for Southern & Appalachian accents - The stereotype of "rural idiot" causes problems with employment and social acceptability.

We really need to raise awareness on this issue. Almost no one thinks about it, but it affects trans people, smokers, the disabled, women with deep voices, anyone with a foreign accent, and many others.
